How we keep this catalogue current

What gets re-read, how often, and what happens to a piece that goes out of stock.

Prices

Every price on this site comes out of our own product data and is rewritten when it moves. The catalogue was last updated on September 14, 2026, and at that update it held 54 pieces in stock across 124 tone and set combinations. Where a figure here and the figure at the till disagree, the till is the one that counts.

A piece we cannot currently buy does not appear at all. It is not hidden behind a “currently unavailable” label: it comes off the site at the next build and comes back by itself when it returns to stock, because the catalogue behind these pages keeps asking about it either way.

Gauges, millimetres, metals and counts

These come from the same product data and are rebuilt from it on every pass, so nobody types a gauge into a paragraph by hand. A gauge on a card is the thickness of the post, and the scale runs backwards; a millimetre figure on a hoop is measured across the inside, and on a stud across the front; a chain length is the chain without its extender. The metal line names what the piece is sold as and, where there is a plating, what the plating is over. Where our product data gives no figure, the line is left out rather than guessed.

Pictures

Every photograph on this site shows the metal tone being sold. Three kinds of frame are left out on purpose: the size panel with gauges and millimetres drawn across the picture, because it argues with our own specification beside it; the comparison panel that sets our piece against an unnamed other, because a comparison with nobody is not one; and any frame with a claim printed into the pixels, because a claim in a photograph is still a claim and a text audit cannot see it. On this brand that removes about a fifth of the frames the catalogue arrives with.

Claims about metal, nickel, healing and children

This catalogue never says in its own voice that a piece is hypoallergenic, nickel-free, lead-free or safe for sensitive skin. Those words belong to the packet, and this site prints the metal instead. Anything here that touches what nickel does, what a fresh piercing needs, how long a piercing takes to settle, what to do about one that has gone wrong, or what the law says about lead in a children's product, is written under a published source rather than over one. The register below is the whole of it, and every entry was opened and read on September 7, 2026 before a link was put on it.

Corrections

If a gauge, a millimetre or a metal on this site argues with the piece in your hands, write to helix@dailistore.com with the page and the figure. Where this comes from

Nickel allergy: How to avoid exposure and reduce symptoms · American Academy of Dermatology. Earrings and earring backs are named among the biggest culprits for a nickel reaction. The metals the page names as less likely to trigger one are surgical-grade stainless steel, 18, 22 or 24 karat yellow gold, pure sterling silver and platinum. Read September 7, 2026.

The first earring stays in for four to six weeks and is turned gently each day; a piercing is postponed until a child is old enough to look after the site; redness or tenderness means a possible infection and prompt medical attention. About one in three piercings other than an earlobe ends in a complication; nickel is named as a common and potentially serious risk, and some gold jewellery contains it; a navel piercing can take up to a year to heal. Infected piercings · NHS. Clean twice a day with warm salty water, turn the jewellery gently while it is wet and not when it is dry, do not pick the crust; swelling, heat, dark redness, pus or feeling unwell means asking for an urgent appointment; and the jewellery stays in unless a doctor says to take it out. Total Lead Content · U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. An accessible component of a product designed or intended primarily for children twelve years of age or younger must not contain more than 100 parts per million of total lead. Read September 7, 2026.
Jewelry for Initial Piercings · Association of Professional Piercers. For a fresh piercing the association names implant-certified titanium to ASTM F-136, surgical steel to ASTM F-138, and gold of 14k or higher that is nickel- and cadmium-free, with a mirror finish and internal threading, because the thread is then on the removable end rather than on the part that passes through skin.
