DAILI Horseshoe Nose Rings

A horseshoe is not a hoop that failed to close. It is a curved barbell with a threaded ball at each end, and the gap between the ends is the point of it: the piece comes out by unscrewing one ball rather than by prising a ring open, so the metal never goes out of round. Turn it so the gap faces down and it reads as a nostril ring; turn it so the gap faces up and it hangs from a septum. The same piece does both, and nothing else on this shelf turns over as fast.

The ends are the part to be careful with. A screw-off ball is a small object with a fine thread, and it goes down a plughole in a second: do the change over a closed drain and a flat towel. Some of the pieces here come with a slim opening tool, which is not a gimmick: an 18G barbell has enough spring that opening it by hand puts a bend where you did not want one. Two gem ends is the common front on this page, at two and a half millimetres, one on each side of the nostril.
